Asalam o Alaikum,
Approx eight years ago, yes eight years ago it was a bright day but there was a decision a determination to make a virtual home. A home for although virtual but for real people, who come on this virtual world to spend some good moments together. And while these real people spend some time virtually they make some really good friends, they get to know each other, they share mutual interests, they enjoy spending time with each other.
This is what triggered the need to create a forum, and we ended up creating a site with full of energy and youth in it, hallagulla.com that domain was the domain of dream for many, they put their efforts day and night and within years it was standing out among all other domains. It get the name of HallaGulla.Com a name still respected and have memories for thousands, a name which bring 1000s together, a website who bring a real person among 1000s of people come to meet each other on this virtual world.
That dream of HallaGulla.Com never died, many incident happened in between, the forum was created on few basic rules those were never compromised and we never trade our values at any cost, we paid very high cost to maintain our values. In this process several people left by first joining us, then learning from this mother forum, and when they become something they become "SOMETHING" and they decided to not only leave but had guts to take away (without any shame) 100s of their followers they made on HallaGulla or UrduWorld. They made their own forums and websites, none never dared to own their own beggining, but we never forget ours. We started from a forum called HulChul and we stand here tall and high with pride of achieving some thing that no other forum and site managed to achieve.
We did set few trends, we did set few standards for many Urdu Poetry and Designing Forums! Allhamdolillah
This is the time to celebrate and remember some old friends some good memories some great time we spent together, so I start with myself.
When I started HallaGulla it was not what "I" started it was what "We" started, I remember many names many friends who i lost under the shadow of time, few still approachable, few gone with the wind, but I can never forget their names, there was Cute Chiclet, Adeel, TakdirKaFasana Roshni,Aik Lamha, Ankaboot, Worthless, Kanch ki Mehroo, Dasht e Tunhai, Saghir, Diya, Biya, Manahil, Eqan, Muskaan, Queen Victoria, Creative Sign, Sagar, Saghar / Badal, Mahee, Danmurfi, Zialight, Bhai Bhulakar, Abresham, Soft Voice, Nain Tara, Bheegi Shaam, Amna, Hasil e Zeest, Sleepless, IkIrfan, Naz, LightInClouds, Dove, BePaki, Aalee, Pathani, Zaib, Shy Soul, YNR, Sachaa Lovers, Roshni, Eqan, Muskaan, (sorry I think missed many name here, another sign I am getting old) there is a long list who started this journey and then departed one by one, few still around few still visit toomay be reading this too.
I am thank full to HallaGulla.com / UrduWorld.com because this one website gave me two things:
1. I learnt lessons of my life from this website, I never learnt so many things in real life, I learnt by running this website during past eight years.
2. I met my wife because of this website, whom I am married for past 5+ years Allhamdolillah a very wise decision I took at a very difficult times. And so proud that I made the very right decision. Allhamdolillah.
This is the time to seek forgiveness because I know running a site specially a forum is not easy, because we interact with 1000s of people on daily basis, and during this we do make some strict decision and not all of our decisions are right, sometime we do make wrong decision. I do apologize personally to everyone who did get hurt because of a decision took by UrduWorld.Com administration in past eight years, either by myself, or any member of UrduWorld.Com Administration.
This is the time, a time when we have to remind ourselves that we started this place not for sake of fun, not for any time pass or time waste, or any kind of self praise (like many may do elsewhere), we started this place with an objective with a cause, and that is to provide a family forum where people meet and share respect, love and care with each other, a place which promotes Urdu Islam and Pakistan, a place where things are done with justice and not because of personal favors/likings or dislikings, a place where decisions are taken on merits and not because of influences or anything else.
Let us remind ourself that all of us will die one day, these sites will also die out one day, if not today tomorrow there will be no Basit Habib, there will be no HallaGulla and UrduWorld, but what lessons we leave behind to our fellow members friends and families will remains. So it is not important where we stand today, it is not important where we will stand tomorrow, but what is MOST IMPORTANT is how we complete our journey, what we teach others, how we treat others, what we learn from others, and how we do our journey. It is all about Journey!
If it is all about Journey then why so much hatred? Lets share Love with others. It is all about Journey which can not be done alone, but together they why not treat each other with tolerance and respect! Respect! If it is all about journey then why not care for others as we never know when we will need the same care from others. It is all about Journey, and these are very basic principles.
In short what we are saying once again on our Eighth birthday is we did not moved an inch from our Core Values of LOVE, RESPECT and CARE for everyone. A Virtual Home for Real People still the same but now standing tall and high.
Happy Birthday my Virtual Home - You call it HallaGulla or UrduWorld that does not counts.
