Hangu (Pashto: ????) is a town in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is the chief city of the district of Hangu. Hangu is famous for its greenery, hills, beauty and water.

Location

Hangu is situated in the south of Peshawar (capital city of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa) and it is about 40KM away from Kohat District in the west. Before 1998 it was a tehsil of Kohat, but after that Hangu itself a district in Kohat Division. It is the most beautiful city in southern districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. .In hangu you can watch mountains from where water is gushing into streams.Samana is one of the beautiful place in hangu. Development

Hangu is a small city of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. It has one civil hospital, two government high schools for boys and two government schools for girls. There is a government degree college for boys and girls as well. Numbers of private sector educational institutions are also contributing to promote the social sector educational ratio.
There is a Police Training College (PTC) in Hangu. An Orakzai Agency headquarter is also situated in Hangu which works for the tribal area of FATA. the people of hangu most of them is living is in uae and saudi arabia.these people is working very hard.

Most of the people of this area are Bangash & also Orakzai, a Pashtun's tribe or the people migrated from Orakzai Agency.
