Description
Pharyngeal teeth robust, molar-like with crown flattened or somewhat furrowed. Scales large and thick. `Wild carp ' is generally distinguished by its less stocky build with height of body in standard length. Very variable in form, proportions, squamation, development of fins, and color. Caudal fin with 3 spines and 17-19 rays. Last simple anal ray bony and serrated posteriorly; 4 barbels; 17-20 branched dorsal rays; body grey to bronze.
Habitat
Although they are very tolerant of most conditions, common carp prefer large bodies of slow or standing water and soft, vegetative sediments. A schooling fish, they prefer to be in groups of 5 or more. They natively live in a temperate climate in fresh or brackish water with a 7.0 - 9.0 pH, and an a temperature range of 35.0 - 85.0 °F. Common Carp will readily survive winter in a frozen over pond, as long as there remains some free water. Carp can withstand summer water temperatures in the low 90 degrees Fahrenheit for short periods. Ideal temperature is 68 to 75°C.

Appearance
Brownish or Muddy looking, very strong smell eventually breaks down in small pieces.

Effects
Attracts, makes fish go in feeding frenzy by flushing they digestive system - Myth or Fact. My experience is that when you use Chari, Raho tend to eat only worms.
Making
Very difficult to cook and tolerate the smell, epically if you are not a fishing enthusiast, contents are hard to find and odd named. People dont share their recipes and are quite secretive about it, but you can smell chari from several meters away. It is said by the fishery department that chari effects the fish and it effect environment adversely.
Methods of use
Basically a ground bait, making small balls and throwing them on concentrated spot a day before-overnight or couples of hours before you start fishing, than continue to throw after 1-2 hrs till the time fish starts to bite than you stop.
