      Ireland Education System and Education System of Ireland
      . When we considered the Education System of Ireland and check out the quality of education in Ireland. Ireland Education System is one of the best ever giving the students what that wants actually during studies. The education system in Ireland is one of the best in the world according to the 2007 independent IMD World Competitiveness Report. The Republic of Ireland’s education system is quite similar to that of most other western countries. Responsibility for education in Ireland lies with the Minister for Education who is a member of the Irish Government and responsible to the National Parliament.


      The education system in Ireland produces over 35,000 graduates every year and since 1992 there has been an increase of 35% in students studying third level engineering/ technology courses.
      Higher Education in Ireland consists of the universities (with associated colleges of education), institutes of technology, and a number of private independent colleges. The universities and institutes of technology are autonomous and self-governing, but are substantially state-funded. The universities and colleges have a small number of scholarships for overseas students. Students are advised to contact the institution directly to obtain Application.
      Higher Education System in IrelandTechnical/Vocational Post-Secondary StudyTechnical and vocational programs are available in the applied fields of Business Studies, Science and Engineering & Technology. The awarded qualifications are internationally recognized by professional, academic, craft and trade bodies. The Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC) monitors and makes awards in the non-university sector.

      • Offered at Institutes of Technology and specialized colleges.
      • A two-year program to receive a Higher Certificate.
      • A one-year course to receive a Graduate Diploma.

      Bachelor’s Degree



      A variety of Bachelor’s degree programs are offered in Ireland.

      • During the admissions process universities evaluate student’s Learning Certificate Examination results among other criteria.
      • A Bachelor’s degree is a three to four-year program at a university or independent college.
      • Degree options include, Ordinary or Honors Bachelor’s degree.

      Master’s Degree



      Master’s programs in Ireland are offered in a wide range of fields. In a master’s program, students usually take course work, research work or a combination of two. A Master’s degree is a one to three-year program at a university and requires successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree or Graduate Diploma.


      Doctoral Degree



      A PhD is awarded on the basis of original research and lasts for a minimum of three years at a university.
      Ireland Education System For International Students International students who wish to study in the Republic of Ireland must prove their English language aptitude. Students should contact the admissions office at each school to find out which tests are accepted. The tests may be accepted:

      • International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
      • Cambridge English for Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL)
      • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

      In addition to proving English proficiency, international students must also check that their qualifications satisfy the school’s entry requirements.
