SSC-II exams Petaro college sweeps top positions
Hyderabad, July 30: Students of the Cadet College Petaro have clinched three top and 11 of the 12 top positions in the annual examination for the Secondary School Certificate part-II of science group, according to the result announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, on Friday.
The board also announced the result of the general group of SSC part-II examination.
Among boys, Hasnain Ali, Mohammad Shahzad Bajwa and Arsalan Ahmed secured the first three positions in the science group. They secured 792, 785 and 783 marks.
Among girls, Ayesha Aslam Memon, Aqsa and Maha Mustafa clinched the first three positions by securing 776, 775 and 774 marks.
A total of 49,940 students, including 18,716 girls, appeared in the examination in science group. Of them 43,882 (16,563 girls) were declared successful. Results of 325 students were withheld for different reasons.
The percentage of successful candidates remained 87.86.
Among boys, Rashid Ali and Naeem Hussain of the Government Boys High School, Tando Mohammad Khan secured the first and second positions by obtaining 671 and 665 marks.
Mohammad Urs of the Government High School, Haji Khan (Dadu) stood third with 658 marks.
Among girls, Asma Bano of Sachal Boys and Girls High School, Tando Allahyar, secured the first position by securing 676 marks and Sharifan of the Government Girls High School, Matli, and Khola of the Government Girls High School, Tando Bago, secured the second and third positions by obtaining 662 and 660 marks.
A total of 2,180 students (808 girls) appeared in the examination. Of them, 1,876 (658 girls) were declared successful. The result of 37 students was withheld.
The pass percentage in the general group was 85.23.
The University of Sindh announced on Friday results of the annual examination 2010 (college-side) BSc Part-II.
According to a handout, of the 5,117 candidates who appeared in the examination, 361 secured first class, 3,106 second and 221 third. Dawn
