Seminar on Maulana Zafar Ali Khan at PU

Lahore, Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) University of the Punjab Lahore and Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Trust jointly organized a seminar on Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Day. The Chief Guest of the Seminar was University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran while renowned journalist and Chief Editor daily Nawa-i-Waqt Majid Nizami were also present on this occasion. Acting Director of Institute of Communication Studies Dr Afirah Hamid Ali, Chairman Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Trust Khalid Mahmood, Secretary Raja Asad Ali Khan, President Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Chair Dr Zahid Munir Amir, Mowahid Hussain Shah, faculty members and a large number of students also participated in the seminar.

On this occasion, Majid Nizami said that Maulana Zafar Ali Khan was a trendsetter journalist. He said that journalism in Pakistan was not an easy task and the newspapers had faced many difficulties and dictators including Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and General Musharraf due to impartiality. University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Mujahid Kamran said in his address that war was indispensable in the world and the freedom was not possible. He said only the nation who prepared themselves had been successful. PUVC said that in that era knowledge and power were must for the survival in the world. At the end of the seminar, Actind Director of the Department, Dr Afirah Hamid Ali said that its our bad luck that the message of Maulana Zafar Ali Khan had not been conveyed to the new generation and we are responsible for that mistake.
