      yah ajnabii sii manzileN aur raftgaaN kii yaad
      tanhaaiyoN ka zahar hai aur ham haiN dosto

      laaii hai ab uDaa ke gaye mausamoN kii baas
      barkhaa kii rut kaa qahar hai aur ham haiN dosto

      phirte haiN misl-e-mauj-e-havaa shahar shahar meN
      aavaargii kii lahar hai aur ham haiN dosto

      shaam-e-alam Dhalii to chalii dard kii havaa
      raatoN kaa pichhlaa pahar hai aur ham haiN dosto

      aaNkhoN meN uD rahii hai luTii mahfiloN kii dhuul
      ibrat saraaye dahar hai aur ham haiN dosto
